Inclusion Policy
Our Commitment
Urban Rec is all about good times, great mates, and fair play. We believe sport should be fun, social, and for everyone – no matter your gender, age, ability, cultural background, or who you cheer for. We’re committed to creating leagues and events that are safe, inclusive, and welcoming for all players, staff, and partners.
We’ve got zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment, bullying, or anything that makes someone feel like they don’t belong. Everyone deserves a fair go on and off the field.
What Inclusion Means to Us
Inclusion at Urban Rec is more than a policy – it’s how we play:
- Respect everyone – teammates, opponents, staff, and spectators.
- Celebrate differences – diversity makes the game better.
- Keep it social – competitiveness is cool, but kindness wins every time.
- Make space for everyone – we accommodate different needs where possible.
Gender Identity & Expression
Players can join and play in the league or team that best reflects their gender identity. If you’ve got questions or need help finding the right fit, our crew is here to help – just reach out.
Accessibility
We want everyone to enjoy the game. If you need adjustments to participate (like modified rules or extra support), let us know. We’ll do what we can to make it work.
Behaviour That Doesn’t Belong
- Discrimination, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism – not on our watch.
- Bullying, intimidation, or harassment of any kind – also a big no.
- Aggressive or overly competitive behaviour – we’re here for fun, not finals pressure.
If Something’s Not Right
If you see or experience behaviour that goes against this policy, speak up. Here’s how:
- Talk to your League Host on the night.
- Email us at [email protected]
We’ll treat every report seriously, handle it confidentially, and keep you updated. Read our Complaints Policy for more info.
